Weinan, Shaanxi Province, is the main producing area of high-quality kiwifruit in China. The cooperative park has a continuous planting area of more than 8000 mu. The vines of kiwifruit grow on the shelf, the tree rows are low and compact, and the field management is difficult. In previous years, the park mainly relied on the combination of manual weeding by employees and herbicides. The outflow of local young and middle-aged labor force was serious, it was difficult to recruit workers during the busy farming period, and the cost of manual weeding in a single day continued to rise. Chemical spraying can easily penetrate the root system along vines, causing weak growth of fruit trees in light, falling flowers and fruits in heavy cases, and pesticide residues also restrict fresh fruits from entering the fresh channels. In addition, some plots in the park are gentle slope sandy land, conventional small agricultural machinery is easy to slip and sink, and the progress of large-scale weeding cannot keep up with the growth rate of weeds.

Combined with kiwifruit planting landform and crop characteristics, the public mouse technology customized low-rise special weeding equipment between rows. The whole machine is designed with a narrow body, which can smoothly pass through the row spacing of fruit trees of about 1 meter. The floating weeding cutter plate adapts to the concave and convex sand ground, crushes weed roots close to the surface, and does not damage the shallow fibrous roots of kiwifruit. The equipment is easy to operate, ordinary farmers can operate independently with simple training, and the average daily operation of a machine is equivalent to 6 employees.

After the full set of equipment was put into use, chemical herbicides were completely discontinued in the park, and the cost of weeding labor was reduced by 59%. Kiwifruit fruits have reached the green food access standards, the purchase price has increased, and relying on the advantages of mechanized management and protection, the park has become a standardized kiwifruit planting demonstration base in Weinan, effectively reducing costs, improving quality and increasing income.
